Annual New Women Meet-Up

Join the 40+ year tradition welcoming new women to WVU at our annual meet-up. Senior leadership, deans, chairs, academic directors and seasoned faculty and staff typically attend to meet new colleagues from across campus and help them learn how to navigate resources and find a sense of community among peers.

The spirit of this event has remained the same for more than four decades: "Welcome! We are so glad you are here."

The Annual New Women Meet-Up event began in the fall of 1980 to welcome new women faculty. The first potluck was held in the home of Judith Stitzel, the founder of Women & Gender Studies at WVU, which began as a part-time program in 1980 and became a full-time center in 1984. Now, the potluck has expanded to welcome new faculty and staff!

Hosted by the Women’s Resource Center, in collaboration with the Center for Women’s & Gender Studies (WGST) and the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI).
