Annual New Women Meetup

Join the 40+ year tradition welcoming new women to WVU at our annual meetup. Senior leadership, deans, chairs, academic directors and seasoned faculty and staff typically attend to meet new colleagues from across campus and help them learn how to navigate resources and find a sense of community among one another.

The spirit of this event has remained the same for more than four decades: "Welcome! We are so glad you are here."

The Annual New Women Meetup event began in the fall of 1980 to welcome new women faculty. The first potluck was held in the home of Judith Stitzel, the founder of Women & Gender Studies at WVU, which began as a part-time program in 1980 and became a full-time center in 1984. Now, the potluck has expanded to welcome new faculty and staff!

Hosted by the Women’s Resource Center, in collaboration with the Center for Women’s & Gender Studies (WGST) and the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI).
