Promoting Women's Rights
The WRC provides education about women's rights through events, partnerships, cross-promotion of initiatives and student coursework, the WRC seeks to empower women by becoming active participants in all levels of the WVU community and beyond.
Partner with the WRC
The WRC co-sponsors events and programs on women's rights. If you are interested in co-sponsoring your event with the WRC, please email wrc@mail.wvu.edu with the following information:
- Name of organization or department.
- Name of proposed event.
- Date(s) and location.
- Point of contact’s name and email.
- Summary of the event.
- How the WRC can help.
The WRC looks forward to cross-promoting events focused on women’s issues and empowerment. When posting events on the WVU calendar, please make sure to tag "Women's Resource Center" and they will pop up on the WRC events page. - Honors Experiential and Community Engaged Learning (
EXCEL) Program

MS Industrial Relations students (ILR 546) complete experiential learning
projects, for example, by developing an educational video.

Multidisciplinary Studies Capstone (MDS 489) participated in a community-service
learning project.

Psychology Field Experience students (PSYCH 491) table and develop projects
for their field experience.

Public Health Prevention & Intervention (PUBH 621) developed and facilitated
an intervention.
- Social Work BSW field students (SOWK 491) get real-world experience.

Social Work MSW students (SOWK 581) get real-world experience.

Women's and Gender Studies students have several course
options to choose from.
Want to support women's issues that impact your life or someone who is close to you? Sign up to volunteer at certain WRC events throughout the year. Students may earn iServe credit hours when you volunteer, pending approval from the WRC director.
