Faculty Modification of Duties for
“Significant Personal Circumstances”
"A Modification of Duties will normally result in a release from traditional teaching assignments for one semester.” without salary modification. “Significant Personal Circumstances is a personal situation that has, or will likely have, significant impact on a Faculty member’s productivity including, but not limited to, new parental responsibilities, caring for a parent, responding to serious illness of the Faculty member or someone in their immediate family, or some other extenuating circumstance.”
Tenure Clock Extension
To extend one’s tenure clock (i.e., one’s critical year), make the request “…prior to the start of classes in the Faculty Member’s fourth semester (excluding summer sessions) of employment. The request must be made on this form:
