Early Head Start

A program to ensure your child is developing on track and getting the care they need. Early Head Start helps broker multiple resources including doctors’ offices, development specialists, childcare, and even DHHR services. They also work with local public schools to enroll your child in Pre-K and ensure adequate care in school.

A neighborhood and community center where families with young children can access information and receive services to meet their family’s needs. This includes resource coordination and early childhood education, as well as parent, community, and literacy awareness and promotion. Free respite care for children 4 and under is offered here so that parents can attend appointments or simply catch a break.

A state-run program that, if you qualify, ensures your child is on the right track to development and success. Early Head Start Partners with local public schools to enroll your child in daily Pre-K and ensure their wellbeing at school and at home. They also can recommend doctors’ offices, DHHR resources, and other resources if you or your child are in need.

If you are in need of childcare assistance and other resources, call the RCAA Head Start to see if you qualify. Head Start and Early Head Start are publicly funded program that help parents, who qualify, ensure their child’s successful development. They partner with public schools throughout Raleigh County to provide Pre-K care and ensure the child’s wellbeing at school.
